Who We Are Able to Support 

This programme is able to consider applications from:

• Registered Charities
• Constituted community groups
• Constituted voluntary groups
• Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs)
• Registered social enterprises
• Industrial and Provident Societies

Benefitting organisations supported must:

• Be UK based and operating in the UK
• Have an annual average turnover of £50,000 or less (average of last 3 years)
• Provide evidence of a need for intervention within the focus area they are supporting

Who We Are Not Able to Support 

This programme is not able to offer funding to:

• Local Authorities
• Parish and Town Councils
• Schools
• Statutory organisations
• Groups that will benefit statutory organisations
• National organisations with no local arm
• Private businesses

Eligible Costs

• Equipment costs
• Capital costs
• Training costs
• Revenue costs
• Project costs
• Event Costs

Ineligible Costs 

• Funding towards religious projects or projects that promote religion. Projects delivered by faith-based organisations will be considered, as long as the services they provide are available to people or all faiths or no faith
• Political campaigning activities specific to any one party, including participation in political demonstrations, support of a political party, or the issuing of material which supports or opposes a particular party or government
• Statutory bodies or provision, including towards the provision of core statutory services or services that carry out a statutory responsibility
• Retrospective funding, where the project has already occurred or for goods and services which have already been ordered or purchased prior to funding being approved

Grants Available 

You can apply for a grant of up to £3000

Project Duration

Organisations have 12 months to fully deliver the project

Monitoring Expectations

Organisations will need to:

• Agree to provide high quality information including figures where possible, relating to the number of beneficiaries supported upon completion of their project. Ideally to include information on how many lives have been saved and how many lives have been significantly improved through the work of the beneficiary organisation
• The Randal Foundation’s definitions for ‘Lives directly saved’ and ‘Lives significantly improved’ are as follows;

Lives directly saved: An individual whose life is directly saved is a life that was at serious and credible risk of loss before the provision of grant funding and, as a result of expenditure of the grant funding directly or indirectly for the benefit of the individual, has significantly lowered the risk of loss of life.

Lives significantly improved: A significant improvement in the quality of life of an individual is achieved where grant funded expenditure directly enables a long term or permanent betterment of an individual’s life chances, personal circumstances or physical or mental health.

When providing the monitoring information, we ask that only high quality, accurate information/evidence is provided, specifically in relation to the figures provided for the number of ‘Lives directly saved’ and ‘Lives significantly improved’.

• Ensure that the Randal Foundation is mentioned on all promotional materials and social media posts

1. What will you do during your project / activity?
2. What need or disadvantage are you trying to address?
3. How will your project improve the lives of the people that engage with it? How will your project SAVE lives or SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE lives?
4. If you receive funding, what will happen after the funding ends?
5. How does your proposed project meet the aims of the fund as set out in the criteria? Which of the thematic areas is your project addressing?
6. How will you measure the impact of your project or activity? You will be asked to collate qualitative and quantitative data on how many lives have been SAVED or SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED. Please provide details on how you will be able to measure and report on this. 
7. Have you managed similar projects before? What was the impact of your work?

3) You will be asked beneficiary data, including target numbers (please be realistic with this as we will expect monitoring to reflect support)

4) Finally, you will be asked to provide a full budget breakdown to show how you will spend the grant

Documents You Need to Send Us

The following documents must be provided with your application. If you fail to provide these documents, your application will not be considered. All documents should be submitted at the time of the application.

• Governance document (Constitution, Memorandum and Articles of Association)
• Accounts – either audited, independently examined or financial forecast
• Bank Statement – must be no older than 3 months and needs to clearly show the bank account name (which matches the application), number and sort code
• Safeguarding policy
• Equality Policy
• A copy of your insurance document
• Quotes for capital items

During the assessment stage, we carry out due diligence checks to ensure all submitted documents meet the legal requirements for grant giving. It is the applicants responsibility to ensure that their submitted documents meet these requirements

This is an open grants round. Applications are welcome anytime and will the round will remain open until funding has been fully distributed.
