Legal Structure 

For most of our programmes, you will need to be one of the following:

• Constituted Voluntary / Community group
• Registered Charity
• Social Enterprise – including CIC’s

Governance 

• Organisations must have been established for at least 12 months
• You must have at least 3 unrelated (2 for CIC’s) members who are legally responsible for governance – this could be members of your management committee or trustees
• Have at least 2 unrelated signatories

Funding

We are not able to fund the following:

• Funding towards statutory provision – anything which is already or should be funded by statutory bodies
• Funding towards religious projects or projects that promote religion. Projects delivered by faith-based organisations will be considered, as long as the services they provide are available to people or all faiths or no faith
• Political campaigning activities specific to any one party, including participation in political demonstrations, support of a political party, or the issuing of material which supports or opposes a particular party or government
• Statutory bodies or provision, including towards the provision of core statutory services or services that carry out a statutory responsibility
• Retrospective funding, where the project has already occurred or for goods and services which have already been ordered or purchased prior to funding being approved

Previous Funding 

Normally, we can only permit an organisation to hold two active grants at any one time. If you have any monitoring that is due or overdue, this must be submitted and approved before you can apply to any further programmes.

Supporting Documents 

To apply for any of our programmes, you will need to supply as a minimum:

• A Governance document – Such as a constitution or a Memorandum and Articles of Association. This must:
  • Detail the organisations aims and objectives
  • Record a formal adoption by your management committee or board
  • Show the legal status of your organisation
  • Contain a dissolution/wind up clause, or detail an asset lock

• Account – a detailed record of financial management, which could include:
  • Audited accounts
  • Accounts which have been independently examined
  • Be a clear and accurate record of income and expenditure

• Bank statement – this will need to be a photo of a recent bank statement. It must:
  • Be in the name of the organisation applying
  • Be a statement and not a screenshot of an online account
  • Be no more than 3 months old
  • Show clearly the account name, the account number and the sort code

• Safeguarding Policy – you must have a formally adopted policy which covers your Safeguarding procedures. It must:
  • Be in the name of the organisation
  • Be up to date

• Equality Policy – you must have a formally adopted policy. It must:
  • Be in the name of the organisation
  • Be up to date
