Careers at the Community Foundation

Staff Recruitment Policy

The Community Foundation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all individuals and expects all staff, volunteers, and contractors to share this commitment.  Our recruitment processes reflect this approach.

Each vacancy will be considered as to whether it is suitable for job share.  Job share will not be an option if there are relevant essential reasons why it is not appropriate, or the nature of the job does not facilitate it.  If a job share is appropriate, it will be included in the job description.

We will usually use anonymised shortlisting.  A guaranteed interview will be offered to candidates who are disabled, from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, older people, veterans, reservists, and families of those serving in the Armed Forces, where they meet the minimum essential criteria.

Any offer of employment will be subject to;

  • Relevant qualification or registration checks
  • DBS clearance if applicable
  • Completion of any probationary conditions

Trustee Recruitment Policy

The Board is responsible for the appointment of Trustees.  A Trustee is appointed for a fixed term of three years.  Trustees may serve subsequent terms at the invitation of a majority of the other trustees.

For each new appointment the Board will seek to fill gaps in the skills needed to run the Community Foundation.  To achieve greater diversity the Board may advertise, and network with other charities and public bodies.  Candidates will be chosen based on who can assist the Board as representatives of communities of interest.  We have exclusively reserved trustee positions to ensure service user representation on the board and prioritise those who have skills and lived experience in areas such as, (although this list is not to be considered exhaustive):
