Meet the BKVC Sponsors: Homes Plus

We have been asking our sponsors of Richard Winterton’s Best Kept Village Community Competition what the competition means to them and why they want to be involved with our communities across the county. This week we are looking at Homes Plus, who are a leading provider of affordable homes to people across both Staffordshire and Shropshire. The organisation owns over 19,000 homes and employs roughly 900 people from the local area.

Homes Plus is a social landlord with a vision to make a positive difference to homes, lives and local communities. We asked the organisations why they wanted to be involved with BKVC and what it means to them, “In Staffordshire, the Best Kept Village Community Competition brings people and communities together, celebrating a place they are proud to call home. We are pleased to support BKVC with a donation from the Homes Plus My Community Fund, which helps charities, voluntary groups and community organisations who share our desire to make a positive difference.”

The idea behind the BKVC Competition this year was to focus on the community aspect of village life, highlighting how local people come together to make their homes a better place to live. Homes Plus know that the competition is important to many of their customers for these reasons, “We believe that it is particularly valuable this year because it helps to bring together people of all ages and to restore community spirit, after a long period of separation and social distancing.”

Homes Plus were also keen to point out that, “Communities in Staffordshire are distinguished by their resilience, the support that neighbours have for each other in difficult times and by their strong sense of identity. Homes Plus is proud to support towns and villages throughout our beautiful county.” Staffordshire is filled with wonderful communities across the county and we are pleased to be able to share these via the BKVC Competition this year.

The Foundation is proud to have Homes Plus as one of our BKVC sponsors for 2022 and we look forward to having them on board!
