Projects We Can Support 

The programme welcomes both new and existing projects, provided they align with the centenary celebrations and are completed by the end of 2025. Funding is available for a wide range of initiatives, including:

• Community Events – Bringing people together in celebration.
• Arts, Culture & Heritage Projects – Showcasing the city’s rich history and creativity.
• Environmental Activities – Enhancing local spaces and promoting sustainability.
• Youth Engagement – Encouraging children and young people to take part.
• Health & Wellbeing Initiatives – Promoting active lifestyles and community wellbeing.

The fund encourages innovative and inclusive projects that reflect the spirit of Stoke-on-Trent, ensuring a vibrant and memorable centenary year for all.

The project should celebrate at least one of the Stoke City Council Centenary themes;
o Civic: Recognising the city’s civic life
o Children and young people: Celebrating the city’s children and young people
o Culture: Honouring the city’s culture (in all its diversity)
o Heritage: Celebrating the city’s rich heritage (all the diverse stories)
o Community: Recognising the city’s community spirit
o Environment: Acknowledging the city’s relationship with the environment
o Futures: Looking to the future and the city’s exciting years ahead

Ineligible Costs

• Funding towards religious projects or projects that promote religion, (although religious organisations can be funded for non-religious projects)
• Party political activities, (where one particular political party is promoted above another)

Grants Available 

Grants of between £500 and £3000 are available

Key points for applications:
• The activity must be in Stoke-on-Trent
• The project must involve residents in Stoke-on-Trent
• All activity will need to take place in 2025. We are not able to offer extensions past the end of the year

Monitoring

You will be asked to complete an end of grant impact report, which will ask how the project was delivered, its impact, how many people benefited from the project and we would also encourage “stories of change” / case studies. Please ensure you keep records of impact throughout your project. We would love to see photos / videos of your projects.

You will also be asked to keep all expenditure and proof of spend as this will need to be submitted with your end of grant report We may also ask to visit your project during delivery

Documents you need to send us 

The following documents must be provided with your application. If you fail to provide these documents, your application will not be considered. All documents should be submitted at the time of application

• Governance Document – Constitution, Memorandum and Articles of Association
• Accounts – either independently examined, audited or a record of income and expenditure.
• Bank Statement – this will need to be in the name of the organisation, no older than 3 months old and clearly showing the account name, number and sort code. The bank account must have at least two signatories, who are not related.
• Details of signatories
• Safeguarding Polices
• Equality and Diversity Policy / statement
• Quotes for capital equipment
• Copy of public liability insurance document
