Brand New Fund Launches for Mental Health Support!
We, The Community Foundation, are managing a new local grant scheme which invites our community and voluntary groups to apply for grants of up to £20,000 to support and aid adults with mental health issues across Staffordshire. Funding is available for equipment, training, and events to create projects that will provide access to activities and give positive experience to adults with severe mental illnesses. This can only be done due to the £900,000 we received through the Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults across all boroughs and districts in the county.
We are managing the grant scheme for Staffordshire on behalf of the NHS Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust and the Combined Healthcare Trust via the Community Mental Health Framework (CMHF). The CMHF is a new initiative where community-based organisations work mutually to deliver targeted support. We specialise in managing local funds, and we administer programmes for local authorities, philanthropists, and business across our county. We are extremely knowledgeable of our local voluntary and community sector, ensuring that our grant funding will be used exactly as needed. Our Chief Executive, Steve Adams, had the following to say about our work with the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust- “We are delighted to be working with the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust and the Combined Healthcare Trust to target and help adults across the county with a severe mental health illness that substantially interferes with or limits one of more major life activities.”.
Steve goes onto say “We want creative grant applications from organisations who can support people over the age of 18 with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). Applicants can send in videos or audio files to demonstrate their proposals – we want dynamic ideas to make a difference and so don’t want to restrict organisations to paper forms.”. This new and creative form of uploading applications will encourage the organization to present their most innovative ideas without hassle.
